Recently, the 2023 China Pacific Island Countries Agriculture and Fisheries Ministers' Meeting was held in Nanjing, and representatives of China Shandong Ocean Shipping Company were invited to attend the meeting.

The Pacific island countries region is an important partner along the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road", with unique geographical advantages and marine resources. The theme of this meeting is "Building a Comprehensive Cooperation Platform for Agriculture and Fisheries between China and Pacific Island Countries in the New Era, Supporting the Sustainable Development of Agriculture and Fisheries in Island Countries", which is of great significance for both sides to better ensure food security, promote marine protection and sustainable utilization, and accelerate the realization of agricultural modernization.

At the meeting, the Ministers of Agriculture and Fisheries of the People's Republic of China, the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, the Republic of Fiji, the Republic of Kiribati, the Cook Islands, the Independent State of Samoa, the Solomon Islands, the Kingdom of Tonga, and the Republic of Vanuatu unanimously agreed to release the "Nanjing Consensus on Cooperation in Agriculture and Fisheries between China and Pacific Island Countries", willing to strengthen cooperation in talent development in the agricultural field on the basis of equality, mutual benefit, and win-win cooperation, Carry out agricultural personnel exchange activities at all levels; Strengthen cooperation in agricultural technology innovation and serve the high-quality development of agriculture; Strengthen trade cooperation in agriculture and fisheries, and carry out bilateral dialogue in the field of agriculture and fisheries; Strengthen cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), make good use of the trust fund donated by the Chinese government, provide technical support and personnel training for Pacific island countries, and jointly promote the Blue Pacific 2050 Strategy.
